Minister Basuki Says Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration Will Be Carried Out At IKN

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that the inauguration of the newly elected President for the 2024-2029 period will be held in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in October.

Given, Jakarta will no longer have the status of the nation's capital as it follows the move to IKN.

This was revealed by Basuki when met by reporters after attending the 2024 Homecoming Preparation Working Meeting with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Senayan Parliament Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 2.

"If the president's inauguration is planned, it's there (IKN)," he said.

Basuki said that the plan for the commemoration ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence on August 17 would still be held at IKN.

"If 17 Augusts are there, but maybe the state speech is still here (Jakarta). The August 17th ceremony is still there, the presidential inauguration will also be there. That's the plan," he said.

For your information, Prabowo Subianto officially won the 2024 presidential election according to the General Election Commission (KPU).

He and Gibran Rakabuming Raka bagged 96,214,691 votes. The candidate pair number 2 is superior in 36 provinces from 38 provinces.

Even so, currently their victory still gets resistance from candidate pair one Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and candidate pair number three Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. Prabowo-Gibran's victory is still in a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court (MK).
