DGT Reveals 67.46 Million Taxpayers Have Put Out NIK-NPWP

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that the number of Population Identification Numbers (NIK) that had been matched to the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) had reached 67.46 million or 91.7 percent as of March 31, 2024.

The Director of Counseling, Services and Public Relations of the Ministry of Finance, Dwi Astuti, said that the number of matched NIKs was equivalent to 91.7 percent of the 73.57 million individual taxpayers.

"A total of 67,469,000 NIK taxpayers have been matched out of 73,575,966 domestic taxpayers," said Dwi, quoted on Monday, April 1.

So far, 4.22 million NIKs have been matched by taxpayers, and 63.24 million have been matched in a system manner. Thus, the remaining NIKs that have not been matched with NPWP are 6.10 million.

"A total of 6.11 NIKs do not urge matching some of the reasons, such as taxpayers who have died, are inactive or leave Indonesia forever," he said.

As for March 31 at 12.00 noon, 12,697,754 taxpayers have reported their Annual Income Tax Returns or SPT Annual PPh until March 31, 2024.

Dwi conveyed that the reporting figure for the PPh Annual SPT grew by 4.92 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy).

For information, the matching of the NIK to NPWP is planned to be carried out on July 1, 2024. This is stated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 136 of 2023 concerning Amendments to PMK Number 112 / PMK.03 / 2022 concerning NPWP Personal People, Mandatory Body Taxes, and Mandatory Government Agencies Tax.
