JAKARTA - The government has decided not to increase electricity rates for the second quarter of 2024.
The Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman P. Hutajulu, revealed that the macroeconomic parameters used to determine electricity rates in the second quarter of 2024 were realization in November 2023, December 2023, and January 2024, namely an exchange rate of Rp15,580.53 per US dollar, an ICP of 77.42 US dollars per barrel, inflation of 0.28 percent, and HBA of 70 US dollars tonnes according to the coal DMO policy.
"Based on the four parameters, the adjustment of electricity tariffs or tariff adjustments for non-subsidized customers should have increased when compared to tariffs in the first quarter of 2024.
