Maintain Supply Availability, Food Station Harvests With Budidaya Partnership Program In Indramayu

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Food BUMD PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya (Perseroda) harvests together with Budidaya Padi products in Mekarjaya Village, Gantar District, Indramayu Regency, Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

This joint harvest is a realization of collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the Indramayu Regency Government which is followed up with business cooperation by the Food Station with CV Re Agro Lestari, where Re Agro plays a role.

Re Agro prepares land and fostered farmer groups while the Food Station will provide assistance and provision of spray. In addition, to increase the effectiveness of agricultural products in this cultivation activity, implement SOPs and use biological fertilizers.

President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Pamrihadi Wiraryo in his speech said that this collaboration has been going on since 2022 and this year the total area of cultivated land is 606 hectares, with DNA/Bawor varieties that have aromatic long seed characteristics similar to the Jasmine variety from Thailand.

Pamrihadi added that in this collaboration, apart from aiming to maintain the supply and stabilization of rice prices, especially in DKI Jakarta, it also aims to improve the welfare of farmers, because the Food Station provides assistance ranging from planting to post-harvest activities so as to increase productivity of agricultural products.

Head of the DKI Jakarta BI Representative Office, Arlyana Abubakar, appreciated the joint harvest activities, which are Regional Strategic Activities (KSD) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. In addition, this joint harvest activity must be carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as an effort to maintain regional food inflation.

"Today's activities are activities as an effort to maintain food inflation (volatile food) while maintaining economic stability as well as social. Don't forget because high food inflation will cause social turmoil in the community," said Arlyana.

Then the limited land in Jakarta also triggers Jakarta to actively carry out cooperation between regions and other areas which are production centers. The hope is that the cooperation will be mutually beneficial. "For Jakarta, this collaboration with Indramayu gets a supply of rice, while for Indramayu the welfare of its farmers increases. Don't forget that Jakarta's position, which is meeting Bodetabek, cannot really be separated, so that food supplies for Jakarta are also often a source for people in bodetabek. So sometimes calculating food needs in Jakarta often cannot be done by just calculating with Jakarta ID cards but must also consider the needs of the population in the surrounding area," he said.

The DKI BI Representative Office has always supported cooperation between regions that the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to carry out.

"Hopefully in the future the cooperation will be carried out not only in rice but for other food commodities that we know are the basic needs of the community," he explained.

On the same occasion, Acting Head of the Indramayu Regency Food and Agriculture Security Office, Sugeng Heryanto, said that in Indramayu Regency there are 2,604 farmer groups where in 2022 there will be 1.5 million tons of rice and in 2023 with long dry weather conditions it can produce 1.4 million tons of rice.
