Be Careful! The Minister Of Manpower Will Fine Entrepreneurs Who Pay THR Late

JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah warned employers to pay holiday allowances (THR) for workers or laborers no later than D-7 before Eid Al-Fitr 2024. If you are late in paying, you will be fined 5 percent.

"At Permenaker Number 6 Tahin 2016 related to sanctions, if you are late, you will be subject to a 5 percent fine from THR which must be paid since the end of the deadline for employers' obligations to pay," he said in a working meeting with Commission IX of the DPR, at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 26.

The deadline for paying the THR is D-7 before Eid al-Fitr 1445 H or Lebaran 2024. If you calculate the Eid al-Fitr time which is expected to fall on April 10, 2024, then the deadline for paying THR from employers to workers is April 3, 2024.

Furthermore, Ida said in the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 6 of 2016 it was also explained that this fine would be used for the welfare of workers.

"There it is also stated that this fine is used for the welfare of workers or laborers as regulated in PP and PKB," he explained.

Not only fines, Ida also said that entrepreneurs who do not pay the THR will receive administrative sanctions.

"Second, administrative sanctions are imposed on entrepreneurs who do not pay religious THR," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Binwasnaker and K3 of the Ministry of Manpower, Haiyani Rumondang, said that the administration of administrative sanctions refers to Article 79 PP 36 of 2021. Where it is explained that administrative sanctions consist of written reductions, restrictions on business activities, temporary suspension, part or all of the means of production, and freezing with business activities.

"This sanction is given in stages," he explained.
