JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) targets the number of foreign tourist visits or foreign tourists to reach 7 million during the 10th World Water Forum in Bali on 18-25 May 2024.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno predicts foreign tourists' visits will increase along with the implementation of the international water forum.

"So, we are targeting that maybe last year we managed to get past the magic number 6 million. This year, our target (visin visit) is that God willing, it can go up to 7 million," Sandiaga said in The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday, March 26.

Sandiaga also emphasized that visits by domestic tourists or foreign tourists to Bali should also be a concern.

This is because the Island of the Gods itself is still the destination for favorite tourist destinations, especially ahead of the 2024 Eid holiday.

"For foreign tourists, the main goal of the Lebaran holiday is once again still Bali. Please pay attention to this because foreign tourists are equally important (with foreign tourists) because they spend (spending) is extraordinary," he said.

According to Sandiaga, the target set by his party will be achieved if it is supported by all relevant parties. "Hopefully (the target is achieved) with the support of all parties," he added.
