Jasa Marga Predicts About Traffic Surges On Toll Roads Outside Java During The 2024 Eid Holiday

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division (JNT) as the operational coordinator of the Nusantara region predicts an increase in traffic volume on a number of toll roads outside Java Island during the Lebaran 2024 holiday period.

"JNT as the manager of the Belawan-Medan-Tanjung Morawa (Belmera) Toll Road with Toll Road Subsidiaries (APJT) managing the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road in North Sumatra, Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road in East Kalimantan, Manado-Bitung Toll Road in North Sulawesi and Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai-Benoa Toll Road in Bali predict an increase in traffic volume during the long holiday period Idulfitri 1445 Hijri/2024," said Senior General Manager of JNT Truly Nawarsasi in a written statement received by VOI, Saturday, March 23.

Predictions for an increase in traffic volume (traffic) on the Belawan-Medan-Tanjung Morawa toll road reached 1,744,790 vehicles, an increase of 2.08 percent from normal conditions (1,709,165 vehicles) or an increase of 2.03 percent from Eid al-Fitr in 2023 (1,710,053 vehicles).

The peak traffic flow is expected to occur on Friday, April 5, 2024, with a total of 97,057 vehicles and backflow on Monday, April 15, 2024, reaching 94,959 vehicles. Meanwhile, the flow is predicted to occur on Friday, April 12, 2024, with an estimated increase in traffic volume of 69,949 vehicles.

Next, the prediction of an increase in the volume of traffic for the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi toll road is 724,161 vehicles, an increase of 45.70 percent from normal conditions (497,021 vehicles) or an increase of 6.40 percent from Eid al-Fitr in 2023 (680,578 vehicles).

Meanwhile, the peak of the homecoming flow is estimated to occur on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 42,974 vehicles and the peak of backflow occurred on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 39,948 vehicles. Meanwhile, the peak of the flow has the potential to occur on Thursday, April 11, 2024, with a total traffic volume of 46,404 vehicles.

For the prediction of an increase in the volume of traffic toll roads, Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai-Benoa reached 962,859 vehicles, an increase of 2.99 percent from normal conditions (934,904 vehicles) and an increase of 19.75 percent compared to the Eid al-Fitr momentum in 2023 (804,025 vehicles).

The peak volume of traffic itself is predicted to occur on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 48,790 vehicles dominated by traffic.

Then, the prediction of an increase in the volume of traffic on the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road reached 272,772 vehicles, an increase of 18.75 percent from normal conditions (229,702 vehicles) and an increase of 2.46 percent compared to Eid al-Fitr 2023 (266,224 vehicles). Meanwhile, the peak of traffic volume is expected to occur on Friday, April 12, 2024, reaching 22,800 vehicles, the majority of which are tourist traffic.

Furthermore, JNT predicts an increase in the volume of traffic on the Manado-Bitung toll road to reach 132,124 vehicles, an increase of 15.65 percent compared to normal conditions (114,249 vehicles) and an increase of 0.64 percent compared to the momentum of Eid al-Fitr 2023 (131,289 vehicles).

Furthermore, JNT predicts that the peak increase in traffic volume will occur on Saturday, April 6, 2024, with a total of 7,085 vehicles that are traffic.
