Anticipating Traffic Jams During Lebaran Homecoming, Jasa Marga Officers Are Ready To Serve Toll Users Who Lack Balance

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk will alert officers for toll road users who lack electronic money balance (EU) so that they can add balance or top-up during the 2024 Eid homecoming.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said that later the officers would only be in certain locations, such as the right and left sides of toll roads, rest areas and services (TIP) or rest areas and toll substations.

"If later there is a vehicle whose balance runs out when making transactions, of course we will also continue to prepare (officers) at the toll gate (GT) and also a special substation. However, later it must be seen that not all substations provide top up facilities. So, there are certain substations on the right and left sides as well as toll gates, and at the rest area we will still prepare officers to be able to top-up their balances," said Lisye when met at her office, Thursday, March 21.

However, Lisye appealed to the public to meet the needs of the EU balance through Travoy's clear features.

"However, we from Jasa Marga Group continue to urge the public to ensure the adequacy of their electronic balance and can also be monitored through the Travoy application. So, people can plan their journey, where they come from, where they want to go. Then, there will be alternative routes and so will the toll rates that must be prepared," he said.

"Hopefully later it will be enough to help the community to be able to prepare their electronic balance so that there are no queues," he continued.

He added that his party had evaluated the phenomenon of up to 20 percent lack of balance on toll roads in the previous year's Eid period.

"If this doesn't happen, it will certainly support the smooth running of its own traffic, especially in GT," said Lisye.

Jasa Marga predicts as many as 1.86 million vehicles will leave Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek). This figure is calculated in the period of the H-7 to D+2 homecoming flow of Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H or during April 3 - April 11, 2024.

According to Lisye, the surge in vehicles on toll roads rose to 54.13 percent compared to normal traffic and rose 5.94 percent from the Eid 2023 period.

"There will be about 1.8 million vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area. We count at Jasa Marga's four main toll gates," he said.
