Ministry Of Transportation Improves Aviation Services For Passengers With Special Needs

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) cooperates with various parties in the field of aviation to improve services and understanding for passengers with special needs (disability).

Secretary of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation Cecep Kurniawan in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday, March 21, said that his party had socialized regulations related to passenger services with special needs together across sectors in the field of aviation.

"Through this socialization, we create a uniform understanding and improvement in the implementation of service standards in the field, so that it can create a disability-friendly environment in flight operations services in Indonesia," said Cecep, quoted from Antara.

He conveyed that passenger service standards have special needs to ensure adequate facilities and increase understanding for officers in the field.

"Thus passengers with special needs can have independence and have the same opportunity as other passengers to use air transportation modes," explained Cecep.

Cecep appealed to the Air Transport Business Entity (BUAU) and Airport Administrators to provide appropriate facilities and train and improve the readiness of officers in the field to be able to provide optimal service to passengers with special needs.

He emphasized that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is committed to improving services for passengers with special needs in air transportation modes, in order to create an inclusive, independent and equal environment so that they have the same opportunities as other passengers.

"Through synergy, coordination, and collaboration, it is hoped that friendly services will be created for all flight service users, including those with disabilities," said Cecep.

Socialization of regulations related to passenger services with special needs together with cross-sectors in the field of aviation presents speakers from Air Transport Director Putu Eka Cahyadhi, Chairman of the National Committee for Disabilities Dante Rigmalia and Director of Surveillance and Health Quarantine of the Ministry of Health Achmad Farchanny Tri Adryanto.
