JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) in 2023 recorded sales of 40.62 million tons, an increase of 10 percent compared to the previous period. The increase, which was driven by sales of domestic and export cement, was contributed by the involvement of SIG in various National Strategic Projects (PSN) such as the development of the State Capital (IKN) Nusantara infrastructure in East Kalimantan, the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, as well as other national strategic projects.
SIG Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, GIS is always ready to contribute to every development in Indonesia, including the Nusantara IKN infrastructure. Currently, GIS supplies 3,000 4,000 tons per day to support the development needs of the Nusantara IKN infrastructure. From December 2022 to February 2024, GIS has supplied 400 thousand tons of building materials from facilities in Balikpapan and Samarinda.

In the construction of the Nusantara IKN infrastructure, GIS building materials products are used for various work packages, such as the State Palace, the Presidential Office, and Ceremony Fields located in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) to the IKN Section 3A Toll Road (Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau), Section 3B (KKT Kariangau-Simpang Tempadung), and Section 5A (City Intersection - Balang Island Bridge).
The existence of the Toll Road which will be connected to the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road is expected to shorten the distance from Balikpapan to KIPP IKN from the previous 2 hours to 45 minutes.
