JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) is working with national banks and other partners in providing rupiah currency exchange services from March 15, 2024 to April 7, 2024 to meet the needs of exchanging Rupiah money at the moment of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2024 for the community.

Deputy Governor of BI, Doni P. Joewono said that he had prepared money worth distribution (ULE) of Rp197.6 trillion to meet the need for rupiah currency exchange, an increase of 4.65 percent compared to the realization in 2023 which was recorded at Rp188.8 trillion.

"As of March 15, 2024, to April 7, 2024, the public can exchange Rupiah money at 4,264 service points for commercial bank offices spread throughout Indonesia with locations as attached," he explained in his statement, Friday, March 15, 2024.

BI also provides options for exchanging Rupiah money through Mobile Cash Services in strategic locations such as traditional and modern markets, and River Keliling Cash in several areas.

Doni said specifically for the DKI Jakarta area, BI together with banks will provide Integrated Exchange Services on March 28, 2024 to March 31, 2024 at Istora Senayan.

Meanwhile, from April 2 to April 5, 2024, Bank Indonesia will add locations for exchange services on the homecoming route through the BI Cares for Homecoming Program, namely at toll road rest areas and transportation hubs such as ports and train stations.
