JAKARTA - PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (Sido Muncul) distributed assistance for preventing stunting problems at the Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Cempaka Putih. The assistance provided on Wednesday, March 13, in the form of cash worth Rp200 million was symbolically handed over via virtual by Director Sido Muncul Irwan Hidayat to the Director of the Jakarta Islamic Hospital, Cempaka Putih, dr. Jack Pradono Handojo.
The assistance will be given to 40 children indicated stunting in Jakarta for ten months in the period March - December 2024.
"Each child receives Rp. 500 thousand per month. Our idea is to provide the assistance directly to parents," said Irwan Hidayat after handing over assistance, Cipete Raya, South Jakarta.
Irwan assessed that assistance in the form of monthly funds is more practical to distribute and easy to monitor. He believes that parents who have children indicated that stunting can better manage the money to buy nutritious food.
Within 10 months, Sido Muncul will continue to monitor the weight progress of children who receive assistance.
"They can decide, we believe in the money, as additional parents handle their children's problems. Every month, we send (assistance) and parents (receivers of assistance) every month have to report to us. There is progress or not, weight and health," explained Irwan.

Furthermore, said Irwan, this is the fourth time Sido Muncul has handed over assistance to stunted children. This assistance is a form of support and alignment of the CSR program from Sido Muncul with the government, in accelerating the reduction in stunting prevalence rates.
"This is the fourth time we have provided assistance to stunting children. First in Jakarta, then Semarang, Bali and back in Jakarta," he said.
Irwan hopes that the number of stunting sufferers in Indonesia can soon fall, so that a healthy and stunting-free next generation will be formed. According to him, optimal growth can help children develop in the academic and non-kacademic worlds.
