JAKARTA - MADRID TURISMO by IFEMA Madrid announced the launch of "Only in Madrid" in Indonesia, which is a global creative campaign aimed at introducing Madrid cities and territories to the audience and establishing them as one of the tourist destinations that must be visited.

This initiative is supported by the Madrid Regional Government, Madrid City Council, and IFEMA MADRID to place the City of Madrid as one of the world's leading tourist destinations highlighting various aspects of the arts, culture, gastronomi, fashion to Madrid's distinctive lifestyle that make this city a destination that must be visited by tourists when visiting Europe.

In order to highlight the uniqueness offered by Madrid City, MADRID TURISMO by IFEMA MADRID also appointed four Asian celebrities from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Korea as International Ambassadors to Madrid. These celebrities were invited to explore the richness of culture, social, culinary, history, and entertainment offered from the Spanish capital.

Among them are South Korean influencers, joba Moon as brand ambassador for Dyson and Wardah Cosmetic, then there is a pair of entrepreneurs, musicians, actors and actresses, Raffi & Nagita (RANs) who are also brand ambassadors for Grab, Alfamart, and Si Cepat as well as South Korean actor, rapper, and dancer Yang Dong-Geun, a star in the second season of the popular series 'The Squid Game'.

These four celebrities have been appointed as Duta Madrid Turismo who will introduce them starting from a combination of lifestyles, gastronomi, culture, recreation, and inheritance wealth owned by the City of Madrid to the wider audience.

Managing Director of IFEMA Madrid, Juan Arrizabalaga, and Director of Madrid Turismo by IFEMA Madrid, Yolanda Perdomo, conveyed the appointment to the new international ambassador along with the handover of the award symbol in the form of a Spanish robe designed by the company OTEYZA. They were also accompanied by Lara Benito - known as Lara in Korea - a singer, model and actress from Madrid, who is famous in South Korea for her television performance.

Later the new ambassadors will make a visit to Madrid, where they will tour iconic venues and important monuments in the capital as well as attend various events at Madrid's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

As a home to the world's largest royal palace, Madrid has beautiful monuments such as Plaza Mayor, El Prado Museum, and Real Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium. Each neighborhood in Madrid has its own characteristics and uniqueness, ranging from a rhythm-packed Malasa to a beautiful and luxurious Salamanca, where visitors can enjoy a shopping experience, dining, and a stunning Flamenco performance.

Behind the glare and crowds of the Spanish capital, there is a side of a less known and no less attractive place than Greater Madrid. Just on a short trip, you will find a green rural area rich in history and culture, where beautiful medieval cities, such beautiful wine plantations and amazing gardens are a refreshing sight far from urban life.

The Greater Madrid region is also home to the cultural heritage triangles of UNESCO Alcal secrete de Henares, San Lorenzo de El Escorial, and Aranjuez, which are located less than an hour's drive from the city center. Within just 30 minutes of the city, you can see the equally amazing rural beauty like Patones, Chinch totaling, and the San Martgurian garden de Valdeiglesias.

Based on a report from JLL at the end of 2023, Madrid has more than 2,700 luxury hotel rooms. This figure has increased by 50% compared to ten years ago. The city has 33 new hotels under construction, while some of these hotels belong to the high-end hotel segment. No wonder hotel investments in Madrid reached a record 802 million euros in 2022.

As recently, the Four Seasons Hotel opened near the Puerta del Sol center which offers a 1,500 square meter complex that includes shopping centers for luxury fashion brands such as Dior and Hermes. Meanwhile, the adjacent Ritz Hotel recently turned into a luxury hotel called the Mandarin Oriental Ritz.

Madrid is also home to leading fashion brands and world fast fashion, ranging from Loewe, Balenciaga, banyak Blahunik to Zara and Mango who make Madrid one of the most influential international fashion capitals in the world. Even for those who tend to avoid the luxurious fashion style, you can still find quality clothes produced locally in clothing stores in Madrid and of course relatively more affordable than international brands.

Famous clothing stores consisting of small and medium enterprises work according to the values of'slow fashion'. They also focus on creating timeless design concepts (timeless designs), using local workers, fine sewing skills, and the use of quality cloth materials. In fact, Spain is one of the few European countries that preserves artistal cloth crafts as a form of respect for the generation of craftsmen.

Although Madrid are synonymous with fashion, the scope of gastronomi and its cuisine seeps into all aspects of culture and life. Whether it's a traditional lunch with family on Sunday, exploring a tax with friends, or spending hours in the market to get the best local fresh products. Madrid culture is struggling with food.

Only in Madrid can you eat food banquets at the oldest restaurant in the world, Restaurant Botin, a historic gem from 1725 that presents some of the best examples of traditional cuisine offered by Madrid.

MICHELIN Guide Spain 2024 recently announced various Michelin-star restaurants in Madrid in 2024. Heaven for culinary lovers now has 28 restaurants with 36 stars, so Madrid has been dubbed one of the top gastronomi destinations in the world. MADRID TURISMO by IFEMA MADRID also seeks to strengthen air connectivity through signing an agreement with Iberia regarding the opening of a new route between Madrid and Doha to connect Asia and Spain. This means that there are a total of 44 destination routes from Asia, 29 from Africa, and 26 from the Middle East to Madrid. This new route is expected to have an economic impact on the Madrid Region of 55 million in the first year.

In July last year, Iberia joined the world's largest airline formed by British Airways and Qatar Airways. Thanks to this collaboration, in December, Iberia operated its maiden flight to the Qatar capital. This flight is added to both daily flights offered by Qatar Airways. For information, this joint schedule offers morning, afternoon and evening departures for travelers between the two capitals, and hundreds of connections at each center.

The Iberian aircraft that operates this route is the Airbus A330-200, a dual-engine aircraft that is 15 percent more efficient, with a capacity of 288 passengers: 19 in business class and 269 in economic class. This means that this year, the Spanish airline will offer more than 210,000 seats between the two capitals.
