ID FOOD Ensures Safe Food Availability During Ramadan And Eid Al-Fitr 2024

JAKARTA - PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero) or ID FOOD, Food SOE Holding stated its readiness to meet the availability of foodstuffs for public consumption during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2024.

"Regarding basic foodstuffs that we manage in the form of assignments, there are nine important commodities for public consumption in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 125 of 2022," said ID FOOD President Director Frans Marganda Tambunan during a specific working visit of Commission IV DPR RI in Bandarlampung, Lampung, quoted from Antara, Thursday 7 March.

He said that with the assignment to distribute and sell the nine commodities, his party had also ensured that the availability of foodstuffs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr were available.

"The nine staples include commodities that are currently experiencing price increases such as eggs and chicken meat, then ruminant meat, poultry meat, chilies, fish, garlic, sugar, cooking oil, and shallots. It is certain that the availability is available for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," he said.

He continued to prepare for public consumption in Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr to be available for cooking oil as much as 5 million liters, live cows 20 thousand, 5,000 of which will come before Eid Al-Fitr 2024.

"We hope that with the arrival of 5,000 cows before Eid al-Fitr, we can maintain the need for meat and hope that there will be discretion from the government so that this cow does not need to be fatted for 100 days, but can be cut immediately," he said.

According to him, although there are several commodities that are still waiting for the arrival of supplies, such as chilies from producing areas that experience a surplus to areas that lack supply. However, the availability of basic foodstuffs will certainly be able to meet the needs of the community.

"For the readiness of food supply availability ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, everything is ensured to be safe and ask for support in the implementation of food assignments to maintain the stability and supply of foodstuffs for the community can run smoothly," he added.
