The 2024 F1 Powerboat At Lake Toba Triggers A Surge In Passengers At Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) or AP II noted that the number of airplane passengers at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport in North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra reached around 7,430 passengers or an average of 1,238 passengers/day, an increase ahead of the F1 Powerboat event in Balige, Lake Toba.

The number of passengers of 7,430 people was recorded in the period 25 February-1 March 2024 or ahead of the start of the F1 Powerboat event in Balige, Lake Toba on 2-3 March 2024.

AP II Operations Director Agus Haryadi in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday (2/3), said that F1 Powerboat is an attraction for tourists to visit Lake Toba.

"About a week before F1 Powerboat, flights were getting more and more crowded at Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport. Preparations have been done well, so that flight operations and services at airports can be maintained amid high flight traffic," Agus said as quoted by Antara.

Agus said the travel experience was provided by Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport as long as tourists landed.

"Since arriving at the airport, tourists can find typical Batak art such as volcanic art ornaments. Replica Rumah Bolon, which is the Batak Traditional House, is also displayed at the airport, a typical Batak live music show in the baggage waiting area as well as the King Batak Statue," he said again.

According to him, organizing the F1 Powerboat is the right momentum in introducing and promoting local culture.
