JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) reported that the progress of the construction of the Presidential Office in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) has reached 74 percent so far.

This was stated by the Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti while accompanying President Joko Widodo's entourage to visit the Presidential Office in the IKN area today, Friday, March 1.

"The progress for the Presidential Office today is 74 percent," Diana said as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.

Diana said the construction for the building structure itself was almost complete. However, he said, the installation of Garuda statues for the Presidential Office building was still in progress.

"As for the structure of the building (it's almost finished), but for buildings with steel and bars, we are still waiting. Indeed, now we will accelerate to install the blades," he said.

He added that currently the number of attached blades has reached around 1,282 out of the total targeted 4,650 blades.

"So, about a third (installed) and we hope that later this Garuda bird wing can be completed by the end of March 2024," said Diana.

Furthermore, Diana targets the Presidential Office to operate in June. "Hopefully later in June we can function it for the ceremony (Government 17 August 2024)," he added.
