Erick Thohir Targets Garuda To Join InJourney Before October

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir targets PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or Garuda to join PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJorney before next October.

Erick said that the plan to include Garuda into the InJourney ecosystem is still being discussed. Later, if this plan is realized, Garuda will become a subsidiary of InJourney.

The plan to merge Garuda to InJourney is in line with the company's improving finances after the restructuring or restructuring stage is carried out.

"We are still proposing Garuda to enter the InJourney ecosystem. Garuda and Citilink only. If possible before October (entering InJourney)," he told reporters, written Tuesday, February 27.

Previously, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) opened its voice regarding the plan to merge the company to PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia or the Aviation and Tourism Industry BUMN Holding, InJourney.

Daily Executive of Garuda Indonesia President Director Tumpal Manumpak Hutapea explained that until now the discussion process related to the plan to merge the company under the auspices of InJourney is still ongoing intensively.

"The company is currently in the process of drafting studies and exploration of existing options, as well as intensive discussions with related parties," he said in an information disclosure of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) quoted on Tuesday, February 27.

Furthermore, Tumpal said the company views positively and supports the merger plan while still paying attention to the principle of prudence in carrying out its corporate actions.

"Of course (the merger plan) will be based on studies and assessments that are prudent to the company's business outlook," he said.
