JAKARTA - Head of the Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) Bambang Susantono attended the 11th Sustainable Development forum Asia Pacific event or Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) 2024 at the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday, February 22.

On that occasion, Bambang said, one of Indonesia's efforts to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) was to develop a Voluntary Local Review (VLR) or the Sukarela Nusantara Local Review (IKN).

VLR Nusantara itself has a uniqueness because the review has been carried out since the city was built. Bambang assessed that conducting a review at such initial conditions provides a rare opportunity to instill SDGs into urban planning from the start.

"This helps the principles of development of the archipelago in line with the spirit of the SDGs, such as designing with nature, having low carbon emissions, efficiency with technology and providing economic opportunities for all," said Bambang in his official statement, Friday, February 23.

He added, referring to the SDGs approach using the 5P principle, the Nusantara VLR has a focus on 12 goals that can cover the five principles.

"Among them are the principles of people (goals 1, goals 3, goals 5), property (goals 7, goals 8, goals 9, goals 10), planets (goals 6, goals 11, goals 13), peace (goals 16) and partnerships (goals 17)," added Bambang.

Furthermore, said Bambang, to achieve this goal requires cooperation with other countries.

"The importance of cooperation in efforts to achieve these SDGs. Let's work together through collaboration and innovation to take significant steps towards the creation of a sustainable city for future generations," he added.
