JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif has determined the winner of the auction for nine Blocks of Mineral Metal and Coal Mining Business Permits (WIUP).

"This appointment is the result of the re-auction of the 2023 metal mineral and coal wave I and the 2023 WIUP of metal minerals and wave II coal in 2023," said Head of the Communications, Public Information Service, and Cooperation (KLIK) Bureau of Energy and Mineral Resources Agus Cahyono Adi, Tuesday 13 February.

1. Blok Brang Rea in West Sumbawa which contains gold commodities won by PT Tambang Sukses Sakti with a Data and Information Compensation (KDI) value of Rp. 15 billion. 2. The Semidang Lagan Block in Central Bengkulu which contains coal commodities won by PT Kharisma Raflesia Utama for coal commodities with a value of KDI of Rp. 8.18 billion.3. The Nibung Block in South Sumatra containing coal commodities won by PT Mustika Energi Lestari with a value of KDI of Rp. 95.28 billion.4. Marimoi Block I in East Halmahera won by PT Aneka Tambang Tbk to work on nickel commodities. 5. The Botak Mountain Block containing gold commodities won by PT Merdeka Tambang Jaya with a KDI value of Rp. 300 billion.6. The Kaf Block in Central Halmahera which contains nickel won by PT Mineral Jaya Molagia with KDI of Rp700 billion.7. The West Merapi Block in South Sumatra was won by PT Merapi Energy Coal with a value of KDI of Rp53 billion.8. The Foli block with nickel commodity located in East Halmahera was won by PT Wasile Jaya Lestari with KDI worth Rp9.88 billion.9.9. The Liillef Sawai Block with nickel commodities won by PT Aneka Tambang Tbk with a KDI value of Rp110 billion.

Agus added that the implementation of the WIUP auction was attended by a total of 130 participants who submitted the auction requirements documents for 19 WIUP blocks that were auctioned.

"The result is that nine blocks have been appointed the winner of the auction. The auction for ten blocks of WIUP was declared a failure due to several problems, such as no or only one participant passed the pre-qualification stage and/or other problems," explained Agus.

In the first wave of re-auction, there were eight WIUPs that were re-auctioned, namely Lolayan Block, Marimoi Block I, Botak Mountain Block, Semidang Lagan Block, Brang Rea Block, Taludaa Block, Nibung Block, and Kaf Block. The re-auction of Wave I is the re-auction of the WIUP auction which was previously held in October 2023 based on Announcement Number 1.PM/MB.03/MEM.B/2023.

Meanwhile, in the wave II auction, there are Mulya Agung Blocks, Ulu Rawas Blocks, Bayung Lencir Blocks, Bayu Lingga Blocks, West Merapi Blocks, Tumbang Nusa Blocks, Pasiang Blocks, Pulanga Blocks, Foli Blocks, Lililef Sawai Blocks, and New Natai Blocks.
