Coordinating Ministry For The Economy: 190 PSNs Have Been Completed During 2016-2023, The Value Is IDR 1,515.4 Trillion

JAKARTA - Deputy for Regional Development and Spatial Planning of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Wahyu Utomo said that as many as 190 national strategic projects (PSN) had been completed throughout the 2016 to December 2023 period, with a total value of Rp1,515.4 trillion.

"Apart from that, there are also infrastructure projects that have been partially completed, this has value as well. There is also infrastructure that is still under construction, this has value as well. So so far we have not only had Rp1,500 trillion, (probably) more than that because some have been partially operational and are still under construction, where all of this has an impact on the multiplier effect," Wahyu said in a media briefing in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, February 7.

PSN completed throughout 2023 totaled 37 projects with a total value of Rp475.4 trillion. A total of 37 projects include 7 dams, 3 ports, 5 toll roads, 4 areas, 5 trains, 3 airports, 1 energy, 1 education, 1 technology, 5 Cross-Border Posts (PLBN), and 2 electricity.

In 2016, the government has completed building 20 PSNs with a value of IDR 33.3 trillion. Then 10 PSNs with a value of IDR 61.4 trillion completed in 2017, 32 PSNs worth IDR 2007.4 trillion completed in 2018, 30 PSNs worth IDR 165.3 trillion completed in 2019, 12 PSNs worth IDR 123.1 trillion completed in 2020, 24 PSNs worth IDR 125.9 trillion completed in 2021, and 25 PSNs worth IDR 320 trillion completed in 2022.

Wahyu reminded that the availability of infrastructure is closely related to economic development in a country. Various international studies state that the average infrastructure stock must reach 70 percent.

Wahyu said infrastructure development must continue to be intensified. Moreover, Indonesia has a dream to become a developed country by 2045. Currently, Indonesia's average infrastructure stock is still around 45 percent.

Meanwhile, Wahyu reminded that the infrastructure that has been completed must also be encouraged so that it can produce financing sources that can be used by the government and provide benefits with multiple effects (multiplier effect).

"Of course, this plan (infrastructure development) must be improved in the process, both regarding the matters of design preparation, land acquisition, and maybe related to its utilization. This must also be improved so that the infrastructure built can provide a large multiplier effect," Wahyu said.
