PGEO Signs Agreement With Geothermal Developers In Turkey

JAKARTA PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) officially signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Fan Holding, one of the geothermal development companies in Turkey.

General Manager of Holding Mehmet Fan Mehmetieman expressed his joy to be working with PGE. He hopes this collaboration can produce good results through information exchange and experience to improve the geothermal energy sector both in Turkey and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Julfi stated that this collaboration is very important to do. This effort, he said, was carried out to bring PGE to an expansion globally, opening up opportunities for cooperation with many parties to become very strategic. Julfi admitted that currently PGE has several NDAs with geothermal developers in Turkey.

"This visit is also a concrete effort towards our commitment as agents of decarbonization, both at the national and international levels," he continued.

Furthermore, Achmad appreciated the visit made by the PGE leadership. He argues that Turkey should be a country that needs to be considered in planning geothermal development in the future.

"Factors such as the privatization of the geothermal sector and attractive incentives for investors, especially through the feed-in tariff scheme, contribute to ensuring that the products produced by developers are absorbed with a decent economy. We hope this visit will provide positive input for PGE to manage geothermal in Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, Julfi hopes that PGE's visit to the country with the fastest geothermal growth in the world will open up more opportunities for cooperation.

In addition to Turkey, last year PGE has also started exploring the cooperation in geothermal development with Kenya, which is currently underway.

"In the future, PGE is committed to exploring more opportunities with geothermal development companies that are more resilient in terms of finance, management, installed capacity, to expansion in the geothermal sector," concluded Julfi.
