Increase Agricultural Results, Pupuk Indonesia Encourages The Use Of Organic Fertilizer

BOGOR - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is committed to encouraging the use of organic fertilizers. The reason is, the use of organic fertilizers contributes positively to the increase in agricultural products both in terms of quality and amount of production, while reducing the impact of environmental pollution.

President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi, said that the use of organic fertilizer also plays a role in improving the health of agricultural land in a sustainable manner.

"Pupuk Indonesia has developed an organic and biological-based product ecosystem to support sustainable agriculture."

"This is important for the long-term use to maintain the health of the agricultural ecosystem as a whole," said Rahmad at the eighth Pupuk Indonesia Group Employee Wives Association (PIKA) Anniversary event in Bogor, Saturday, February 3, 2024.

"So, we believe that by providing various organic fertilizers for healthy agriculture, it is able to achieve Indonesia's food security," continued Rahmad.

Rahmad further revealed that Pupuk Indonesia also always provides various organic and biological fertilizer products. For example, Phonska Alam to support the implementation of sustainable agriculture.

"Pupuk NPK Phonska Alam has nutrients containing N, P, and K that are easily dissolved, balanced, and standardized so that quality is guaranteed," he said.

Collaborating With The Good Seed Foundation Forms Kartini Tani

In supporting sustainable agriculture, Rahmad said Pupuk Indonesia presents various efforts and initiatives.

One of them is by cooperating with the Good Seed Foundation in establishing the Kartini Tani Indonesia initiative in order to encourage women's empowerment in the agricultural industry.

This joint commitment was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) carried out by Rahmad Pribadi, President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, and Andy F Noya, CEO of the Indonesian Good Seed Foundation, in Mulyaharja Village, Bogor, West Java.

This activity is also part of the eighth Group Pupuk Indonesia Employee Wives Association (PIKA) Anniversary series.

In addition to supporting the use of organic fertilizers, said Rahmad, Pupuk Indonesia also invites women to be more active in the agricultural industry in order to increase the diversity of perspectives and ideas in sustainable agricultural management.

Based on BPS 2023 data, the number of Indonesian female farmers was recorded at 4.2 million people or 14.4 percent of the total Indonesian farmers amounted to 29.3 million people.

This number is considered to have a significant impact if it is empowered optimally.

Therefore, continued Ramhad, the initiative of Kartini Tani Indonesia was designed by Pupuk Indonesia to maximize the involvement of women in agricultural activities, both in the on-farm and off-farm aspects.

In addition, the livestock sector, plantations, horticultural development, and food crops are also expected to run more comprehensively.

"This initiative is designed to strengthen the role of women through concrete steps that include institutional strengthening, agribusiness development, increasing competence, and digitizing agricultural businesses in a sustainable manner," he said.

Pupuk Indonesia will implement this program in stages until December 2024 by forming Kartini Tani in various regions.

"Providing proposals for agricultural business development, holding on-site training, farmer business assistance, Kartini Tani's Jambore, to conducting evaluations," said Rahmad.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the PIKA-PI Group, Tata Rahmad Pribadi, explained that the PIKA-PI Group always supports Pupuk Indonesia in advancing the national agricultural industry.

"The Indonesian Farmers' Kartini is expected to have a positive impact on the Indonesian agricultural industry. More than that, hopefully through this initiative, more and more great women will be moved to take an active role in building the Indonesian agricultural industry."
