BCA Confirms Interbank Transfer Announcement Of IDR 150,000 Per Month Is Hoax

JAKARTA - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) stated that the announcement circulating regarding interbank transfer fees changing to IDR 150 thousand per month is hoax or fake news.

"In this case, BCA confirms that the announcement is not true and is an act of fraud," wrote Executive Vice President (EVP) of BCA Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, in a statement to the media on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Hera in his statement also said that if he received the announcement, BCA appealed to customers to take several steps, such as ignoring messages, especially when contacted using personal numbers. The bank will only provide an announcement or information from the official number or account, namely WhatsApp Bank BCA at 0811500998.

Second, avoid clicking the 'view' button and filling in the data. Don't open or click the 'view' button. If you click already, don't fill in the web form in it. Immediately exit the website or microsite that is open from the page.

Third, block contact numbers and delete messages. Fourth, manage mobile banking passwords. Create a strong password and change it regularly.

"We also continue to voice appeals to the public and customers to continue to be vigilant with various social engineering modes of banking," concluded Hera.
