Agus Gumiwang Will Monitor Budget Absorption In Semester I-2024, What's Up?

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita asked all heads of work units within the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) to be able to improve performance in budget implementation.

Minister of Industry Agus also hopes that all heads of work units can carry out risk mitigation of the implementation of high-risk programs and activities by conducting intense monitoring.

"I will monitor and evaluate the absorption of the budget until the first semester of 2024," Agus said on the Ministry of Industry's Kick Off Financial Management agenda and Risk Culture Development Strategy in 2024 at the Ministry of Industry's office, Jakarta, Thursday, February 1.

In 2024, the Ministry of Industry's budget ceiling will reach IDR 3.783 trillion which has been allocated to support strategic programs and activities, especially programs to increase the use of domestic products (P3DN), downstream natural resources, development of small and medium industries (IKM), facilitation and development of the halal industry as well as facilitation of TKDN certification and halal for free to domestic industrial companies.

Next, the construction of a phytofarmaka ecosystem, the decarbonization policy of the industrial sector, the restructuring of industrial machinery/equipment as well as the development of industrial human resources.

"These programs must be carried out immediately to accelerate the increase in our industrial competitiveness," he said.

Therefore, Agus set a target for budget absorption until the first semester of 2024 to reach 60 percent. "I set a target to be able to absorb 60 percent until the first semester of this year," he said.

The Ministry of Industry received a budget ceiling allocation in 2023 of IDR 4.53 trillion, including the additional expenditure budget (ABT) for electric motorcycle subsidies of IDR 1.4 trillion which entered the DIPA of the Ministry of Industry in April 2023.

The achievement of the realization of a pure budget without ABT subsidies for electric motors is 98.65 percent, of which this figure has increased to 0.52 percent from the achievement in 2022, which is 98.13 percent.

Even so, if you take into account the ABT subsidy ceiling for electric motors, it is known that the Ministry of Industry's budget achievement reached 69.95 percent.

Agus hopes that in the future his party can continue to maintain and improve better performance achievements and achievements.

He advised to always be a driving force in implementing industrial development programs and building synergies with business actors and other relevant agencies.

"This is in order to accelerate industrial growth as part of efforts to develop the national economy and build equitable development," he added.
