INKA Exports 60 Carriage Units To New Zealand

JAKARTA - INKA Group, namely PT INKA (Persero) and its subsidiary PT IMS, again exported 60 units of goods carriages with the 50Ft "container flat top (CFT) wagon" type, which is the "Batch-1" of the 450 carriages project to KiwiRail, New Zealand.

"We are grateful to all parties, both ministries and relevant stakeholders who have supported this step and all INKA Group employees who have worked hard to ensure the success of the export of this freight carriage," said PT INKA (Persero) President Director Eko Purwanto on the sidelines of the delivery activities at the INKA Madiun office, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 31.

According to him, the 450 cargo carriages of CFT Wagon were ordered by UGL Rail Services Pty Ltd to KiwiRail - New Zealand which will be completed until November 2024.

The 450 WAgon CFTs are in the form of "underframe" without the installation of "bogie" and "coupler" components. The general specifications of the carriages are divided into two types, namely the size of 40Ft and 50Ft designed by UGL in Newcastle Australia with an empty weight of around 15.2 - 17.1 tons with a maximum carrying capacity of 62.9 tons.

"With this export, we hope to strengthen business relations and continue to contribute to national economic growth through the best transportation solutions with a focus on quality, sustainability and reliable security for customers around the world," said Eko.

On the previous occasion, INKA Group completed the 262 CFT Wagon project in August 2023. This ongoing collaboration proves that INKA Group as a domestic rail manufacturing industry is able to compete in the international arena in the railway sector.

In addition to export projects, currently PT INKA (Persero) is completing an order from PT KAI (Persero) in the form of 612 New Generation Passenger Trains whose first shipment starts in December 2023.

Five series of New Generation Passenger Trains, including those that have been operated on Argo Dwipangga, Argo Lawu, Taksaka, and Argo Bromo Anggrek Trains.

In addition, INKA is also working on the KAI Commuter KRL refrafit project. In the project, PT INKA (Persero) has received 1 TM05 KRL trainset for the 1988 production year. Meanwhile, the retrofitting process will take 13-15 months since signing in November 2023.

This KRL retrofit is a synergy of the continuation of the previous contract where PT KCI and PT INKA (Persero) have also signed contracts for the procurement of 16 new KRL trainers.
