Ministry Of PUPR: There Are Three Water Management Problems Faced By Indonesia

The Directorate General of Water Resources at the Ministry of PUPR explained that there are three common problems in water management in Indonesia.

First, namely excess water. This will result in flooding.

"Then, lack of water will have an impact on drought and food vulnerability," said Director of Operations and Maintenance Muhammad Adek Rizaldi, who delivered a speech from the Director General of Water Resources Bob Arthur Lombgia on the agenda of the FGD Seminar for Flood Management Solutions and Rob, Semarang City, which is Participatively Based online, Wednesday, January 31.

The third or last problem is related to the quality of the water itself. If the water quality is polluted, it will take a lot of resources to use it as drinking water or raw water.

"The three things are future challenges related to the management of water resources for all of us," he said.

This makes the management of sustainable, fair and environmentally friendly water resources one of the crucial issues facing Indonesia.

On the same occasion, Adek Rizaldi again reminded that Indonesia had been chosen as the host of the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Bali, on May 18-24, 2024.

This activity is expected to increase public awareness and understanding of the importance of sustainable water resource management.

"This forum aims to provide a platform for various parties to share knowledge and experience in terms of water resource management," he added.
