The National Food Agency Ensures That Rice Stock In Bulog Warehouse Is In Good Condition

Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo said he had accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to check rice stocks in several Bulog warehouses to ensure that the food stock was in good condition.

"Yesterday after we did it from Bulog Warehouse Purwomartani Sleman, today in Bantul, maybe tomorrow he (President) will also go to Klaten, then Sukoharjo ensures that the rice stock in Bulog is in good condition," said Arief after accompanying President Jokowi's working visit to Bulog Bantul Warehouse, Yogyakarta Special Region, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 30.

In the check, he said, the distribution of government reserve rice food assistance was also carried out to beneficiary families (KPM) in the Bulog warehouse operational area.

"Today, which is divided into around 1,000 KPM, and the stock in Bantul has approximately 1,000 tons, the total that will be divided for the Bantul area is around 100 thousand tons, thanks friends from Bulog, especially the leadership of the Yogyakarta region," he said.

He said, Perum Bulog was assigned by the National Food Agency that the minimum rice stock is one million tons by the end of the year, in the sense that every year's transfer there must be a stock of 1.2 million tons of rice.

"The stock includes those with food assistance such as today being distributed, the distribution of three months can reach around 200 to 300 thousand tons, a month by three. Then there are another 1.2 million tons for the stabilization of supply throughout the year," he said.

This, he said, was because according to President Joko Widodo's direction, that the stabilization of food supply in the first two months of 2024 was doubled.

"The President conveyed that specifically for January February before the big harvest, this special food for rice was doped, not food assistance, but rice for stabilization," he said.
