Tom Lembong Said To Be Rancu, Bahlil Spreads Investment In IKN

JAKARTA - Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia explained the value of investment in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

Investments that have entered IKN are currently recorded at IDR 41.4 trillion.

This was conveyed by Bahlil as an answer to the challenges of the Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN) National Team Co-Captain, Thomas Lembong, who vocally criticized IKN. He considered the information submitted regarding IKN investment to be rather ambiguous.

My friend is sometimes a high level of halunization. First, I say that the total investment plan in IKN is approximately Rp. 500 trillion. Where is the state policy of 20 percent of the state budget. How much 20 percent, if it's Rp. 500 trillion, it means Rp. 100 trillion. If it means Rp. 400 trillion, it means Rp. 80 trillion," he said when met at the Office of the Ministry of Investment, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 24.

According to Bahlil, such a large investment was not immediately disbursed to IKN. Bahlil said it would take at least 20 years to realize it.

"And it's not the time at once, it's the fastest time it's around 10 to 20 years," he said.

Regarding the realization of investment in IKN, Bahlil said it could be checked for itself the progress of development at IKN now. He said the hospital and parks were built by the private sector.

"Has any investment entered? Friends can check. The hotel was not built by the government, the hospital was not built by the government, it was all investors. The sports venues, the parks were all private, and the first stage was the first cluster, this was called ring one," he said.

Furthermore, Bahlil said that of the IDR 41.4 trillion investments that came in, IDR 25 trillion of them were investments in the Nusantara Consortium. However, Bahlil was reluctant to specify the share owner's portion.

"They (The Nusantara Consortium) communicated with me about Rp. 20 to Rp. 25 trillion. How much (the portion of each injection) is the share owner? I can't dismantle it. It's crazy. We can't dismantle the shareholders. But the accumulated figure is Rp. 25 trillion, "he explained.

Bahlil also said that the IKN construction will be accelerated and targeted for June 2024, because August is planned to start moving from the capital city of DKI Jakarta.

"We are pursuing the construction until 2024, in July. Because in August we want to go there and there are several hotels that want to become in July. So it is very wrong (if it is called IKN there is no investment). Second, we don't buy it, as long as the sound doesn't sound good," he said.
