Coordinating Minister Airlangga: Patimban Port Becomes Support For Industrial Estates In Bekasi, Karawang, And Purwakarta

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto assessed that Patimban Port in Subang, West Java was able to become the pulse for the development of the Tambourine Industrial Estate.

Meanwhile, Tambourine is an industrial area that includes Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan, Subang, and Sumedang.

"The Patimban Port is the pulse of the development of the Tambourine Area and the support of industrial estates in Bekasi, Karawang, Purwakarta," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga while reviewing the development of the Patimban Port phase 1 in Subang, West Java, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 24.

One of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) has an investment value of IDR 18.9 trillion for the first phase, while for the second stage it is IDR 14 trillion.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga explained that the development of the Patimban Port phase 1 has a container capacity of 250,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalents), and a vehicle terminal with a capacity of 218,000 CBU (completely build up).

"This port area is prepared for around 218 thousand (CBU), last year it was achieved 223 (CBU), above 100 percent. So it can be utilized optimally, but of course we hope that the capacity will increase," he said.

Patimban Port is targeted to fully operate in 2045 with a container capacity of 3.5 million TEUs.

In addition to ports, the government is also building the Patimban Access Toll Road which connects the Cikampek-Palimanan Toll Road to Patimban Port. Currently, the construction of the toll road is in the stage of land acquisition.

According to Airlangga, the Patimbanan Access Toll Road is able to cut logistics costs in industrial areas around ports. This toll road has an investment value of IDR 10 trillion and will be targeted for completion by 2025.

"So hopefully the toll road access from the Cipali Toll Road can be completed directly to the port because it is important to reduce our logistics cost," he concluded.
