The Issuance Of The Minister Of PUPR Regulation 10/2023 Is Expected To Realize Smart City Development In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of PUPR Number 10 of 2023 has been issued on November 6, 2023. Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti said, with the issuance of the Ministerial Regulation, it is hoped that it will be able to realize the development of smart cities in Indonesia.

"That the Minister of PUPR Regulation Number 10 of 2023 yesterday was officially promulgated on November 6, 2023. This regulation is a technical standard setting for the implementation of smart buildings and we apply this nationally. And of course to ensure the sustainability of natural resources and also to reduce the impact of climate change," Diana said in the Socialization of the Minister of PUPR Regulation Number 10 of 2023 at ARTOTEL Suites Mangkuluhur, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 24.

Diana said that the Ministerial Regulation is a guideline to support the implementation of smart buildings in Indonesia. "And this is not yet in Government Regulation (PP) Number 16 of 2021 as a regulation on the implementation of Law Number 28 concerning Buildings," he said.

He did not deny that the method of building a smart city does have its own challenges. Like, having to perform very high and very large costs.

So, this will be considered later to enter into the criteria in smart buildings.

"The criteria for a limited building site area and also in a high intensity area as well as the need for construction of a tall green building above 8 floors will also be included in the criteria for smart buildings," said Diana.

Meanwhile, Diana said, the implementation of the Ministerial Regulation has been implemented in the construction of IKN. This is in accordance with the vision of building the city of Nusantara as a Smart Forest City.

"We take the example of smart buildings like IKN. But, this is not a trial, yes, IKN Nusantara is not trying anything!," he said.

According to Diana, the implementation of the Ministerial Regulation is not only for construction, but operational through the use of technology to its maintenance it will also adhere to a smart system, which must be sustainable. To be sure, there will be benchmark elements and parameters set.

"I hope that the candy from this smart building will not only be used in IKN, but nationally, it will be used later. If these cities should also be ready, they must also have tools. The implementation must start now because IKN will be an example that is replicated for other cities throughout Indonesia," he added.
