JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) launched three trains (KA). The launch of this new train is intended to improve services to customers so that there are more alternative options for traveling by train.
The three new trains, namely the Ka Papandayan Ekspres Garut-Gambir (PP) connection, the Pangandaran train for the Banjar-Gambir (PP) connection, and the Malabar train for the morning departure for the Bandung-Malang (PP) connection on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said that KAI continues to improve services to customers through the launch of the three new trains. The three trains consist of two service classes, namely the Executive Class and Economic Class.
Furthermore, Didiek said that the launch of the Papandayan train is in order to provide customers with a choice of train travel, especially from Garut Station to Gambir, which has been only served by the Garut-Cibatu-Kiaracondong-Pasarsenen Cikuray train.
The launch of the Pangandaran train provides an option for train customers from Jakarta to Bandung, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, to Banjar or vice versa. Meanwhile, the Malabar train, which previously departed from Bandung Station, was only at 17.20 WIB, currently added to the morning departure at 09.50 WIB to Malang Station.
"KAI continues to innovate and improve services to train customers. The operation of the Pangandaran and Papandayan trains is expected to increase public accessibility from Jakarta, Bandung to Garut, Tasikmalaya, Ciamis, Banjar and Pangandaran areas or vice versa so that it can encourage the growth of the tourism, culture and economic sectors in West Java," said Didiek, in an official statement, Wednesday, January 24.

Didiek said the Papandayan train fare is priced at IDR 252,000 for executive class, and IDR 156,000 for economic class. Meanwhile, the Pangandaran train fare is priced at IDR 296,000 for executive class, and IDR 180,000 for economic class.
"For the Malabar train fare, the morning departure is priced at IDR 420,000 for the executive class, and IDR 240,000 for the economy class. This tariff is a promo tariff of 20 percent which is valid until January 31, 2024," he said.
