JAKARTA - The distribution program for Electric Cooking Equipment (AML) in the form of a ricecooker initiated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has begun. Throughout 2023, it was recorded that the distribution of retailers had been carried out as many as 342,621 units out of 500,000 prepared.

The Director General of Electricity, Jisman Parada Hutajulu, said that the most distributed AML sales were in Java and Bali as many as 192,890 units, followed by Sumatra as many as 61,040 units, Sulawesi 36,648 units, Kalimantan 35,307 units, Nusa Tenggara 7459, Maluku 5640 and Papua 3637 units.

"Maybe the question is why Java - Bali is more because this concerns the readiness of electricity because this is a big demand," said Jisman at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, January 18.

Jisman explained that the selection of Java and Bali was because per unit of riskooker needed at least 300 to 350 watts. In addition, the excess electricity capacity is also one of the reasons for Java and Bali to get the most AML allocations.

"Jabali is more than 50 percent because our Java Bali system has overcapacity and is important," explained Jisman.

Before distributing, he said, his party had previously validated data with PT PLN (Persero) to ensure that the electrical cooking utensils distributed did not interfere with residents' electricity networks.

After distributing the riskooker unit, Jisman also ensured that his party evaluated the response and acceptance and satisfaction of the community.

The response of the community, he said, would be based on the ID of PLN and kWh meter customers to monitor the amount of electricity consumed while using distributed AML.

"We will be equivalent to using energy from LPG and getting this program successful or not," continued Jisman.

Jisman also reiterated that the purpose of this program is to reduce the consumption of 3 kg LPG which is still imported.

Again, he said, one of the criteria for AML distribution is based on people who still use 3 kg LPG cylinders, so that it will reduce public consumption and dependence on subsidized LPG.

"If you have used LPG 12 kg, our target is not yet to reduce the use of 3 kg of LPG, especially since Java d Bali electricity is sufficient," concluded Jisman.
