JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Center for Standardization and Industrial Pollution Prevention Services (BBSPJPPI) launched an air quality surveillance application called 'Udaraku'.

Head of the Standardization and Industrial Services Policy Agency (BSKJI) Andi Rizaldi said the innovative product based on the Internet of Things (IoT) displays a dashboard that provides real-time air quality data information for the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) according to P.14/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/7/2020.

ISPU is an air quality report to the public to explain how clean or polluted air quality is, and how it affects health after breathing the air for several hours or days.

"This website-based application is a form of support from the Ministry of Industry through BBSPJPPI to the industrial community in an effort to increase monitoring of more effective air quality in Indonesia," Andi said in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, January 17.

Andi said that the ISPU was calculated by changing the value of the concentration of polluters into a pollutant index which was expressed in the form of numbers and colors.

This is done so that the polluting index is easier to understand and interpret as an air quality appointment.

He added that my Air application displays ISPU from particulate dust in the air, both PM 1, PM 2.5 and PM 10.

According to Andi, the appearance of my Air application is being developed to be able to be arranged as a public view, industry/user view and admin view. The data export feature owned by the Airku application allows the industry to evaluate their air waste management and allow regulators to prepare an air quality action plan.

"Industrial needs in complying with ISPU regulations are very important, and my Air application must continue to be developed so that it can be immediately utilized by the industry," he said.

On the same occasion, Head of BBSPJPPI Sidik Herman said that my Air application was developed to meet SNI 9178:2023 regarding the performance test of air quality monitoring tools using low-cost sensors used.

"This application is ready to be commercialized and the dashboard offered allows monitoring to work through data reporting from sensors that will be distributed in Indonesian territory," he said.

Sidik hopes that my Air application can have a big positive impact in improving the quality level of the ISPU.

"In addition, we emphasize that the participation and cooperation of all parties will be the main factor in joint efforts to create a cleaner and healthier air environment for the community," he said.
