BPK Conducts Audit, Erick Thohir Asks SOEs To Be Cooperative And Transparent

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he would continue to encourage efforts to clean up SOEs as a whole. In carrying out the program, Erick also involved the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to conduct a financial audit.

"In encouraging efforts to comprehensively clean up SOEs, we continue to coordinate with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to maintain accountability for the management of BUMN assets," Erick wrote as quoted from his official Instagram social media @erick.thohir, Wednesday, January 17.

Therefore, Erick asked all SOEs to be cooperative and transparent during the audit process carried out by the BPK.

"I also ask all levels of SOE directors to be transparent and cooperative during the audit process. This is all for the sake of building a sustainable nation's economy," he continued.

According to him, based on the notes conveyed by the BPK Intermediate High Leadership, there is something that needs to be corrected immediately. However, Erick did not explain further what needed to be improved.

"This is indeed one of the goals, namely openness for us to improve our performance together to become a solution that can be applied in the future," he said.

Erick said that improving governance is a check and balance for us to maintain public, public and inter-governmental trust.

Furthermore, Erick said he was proud of the performance that had been given by the Ministry of SOEs, even with a limited budget. This includes the directors of SOEs who continue to strive to maintain the trust and performance that has been carried out together.

"If the governance is maintained, not only can we be trusted in Indonesia, but we can also maintain our performance as market developers abroad. The proof is yes!," he said.

For example, continued Erick, the Asia Development Bank (ADB) saw performance on the improvement of SOEs. Erick said, ADB sees this as a potential good cooperation in the future.

"Indonesia is given the trust to get two packages worth Rp8.5 trillion from PTPP and PT Adhi Karya," he explained.

Regarding the BUMN's make-up, Erick admitted that he not only involved discussions within the BUMN itself but also with the House of Representatives (DPR).

"We also continue to encourage not only internal SOEs but we also encourage discussion with the DPR regarding the legal umbrella of the BUMN Law plan that has been knocked by the DPR," he said.
