This Is The Reason Why Investment Realization In IKN Has Not Reached The Target Of IDR 45 Trillion Throughout 2023

The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) revealed that the reason for the total investment realization in IKN did not reach the target of IDR 45 trillion by the end of 2023.

OIKN Deputy for Funding and Investment Agung Wicaksono emphasized that this target could actually be achieved. However, the realization of investment through the groundbreaking process at the end of last year is close to the long holiday period.

"(The company) is not stepping down from investment, but just falling back from the groundbreaking schedule, because we know that the groundbreaking schedule yesterday at the end of the year is approaching once a long holiday. So, some companies are not ready," Agung said in an online media briefing, Tuesday, January 16.

Agung said that field conditions at the end of 2023 were also the main factors for not achieving investment targets, such as the readiness of a number of companies to the limited number of event organizers (EO) at the end of the year.

"So, in reality that is the cause, but that does not mean resigning from development, it's just that it is delayed from the groundbreaking schedule. Evidently, tomorrow (17 January 2024) immediately continued the groundbreaking again. We will see how it goes, some are even in the pipeline, still in line," he said.

Even so, Agung did not want to divulge how many investment income targets to IKN were set in 2024.

Nevertheless, he is optimistic that the figure could be bigger than last year.

"There must be a target, but it cannot be mentioned at this time. September-December 2023, right, around Rp 41 trillion. So we are optimistic that it can be more than that," he said.

As for now, there have been three groundbreakings by private investors at IKN which have been going on for three periods, namely stages 1, 2, and 3.

Groundbreaking phase 1 takes place in September 2023, stage 2 is held 1-3 November 2023 and the third or last stage is carried out on December 20-21, 2023.

Now, the total investment value that has been included in the IKN project has reached IDR 41.4 trillion.
