The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Notes Investment Realization Of 30.3 Billion US Dollars, Dominated By The Oil And Gas Sector

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported that investment realization throughout 2023 reached 30.3 billion US dollars.

This amount increased from the realization of the previous year which was recorded at 27 billion US dollars.

"The oil and gas sector still dominates investment by 15.6," said ESDM Minister Arifin Tasrif at the 2023 ESDM Sector Achievement Press Conference and Work Program in 2024, at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, January 15.

Following the oil and gas sector, the realization of investment in the mineral and coal sector amounted to 7.46 billion US dollars, the electricity sector amounted to 5.8 billion US dollars and finally the New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) sector amounted to 1.5 billion US dollars.

Arifin said that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had recorded positive trends throughout 2018 and 2019, then affected by the Covid-19 pandemic from 2020 to 2022.

"Then the spike that occurred in 2023 was the realization of 30.3 billion US dollars, an 11 percent increase from 2022," said Arifin.

The investment targets that the government wants to achieve this year are 28.2 billion US dollars, with details of the oil and gas sector of 19.3 billion US dollars, Minerba 3.17 billion US dollars, EBTKE 2.6 billion US dollars and Electricity 3.1 billion US dollars.
