JAKARTA - Throughout 2023, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has taken various steps to spur innovation and business development.

Cooperation with various parties is established to encourage increased added value of coal and technology development in the field of new and renewable energy (EBT).

Among them through collaboration with the National Research & Innovation Agency (BRIN) and various universities.

In addition, PTBA and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or PT KAI agreed on a cooperation framework for the development of coal transportation related to Tanjung Enim Baru-Keramasan on October 12, 2023.

This project will increase PTBA's coal transportation capacity by up to 20 million tons per year.

In this collaboration, the facilities and infrastructure for rail transportation modes were prepared by PT KAI, while the dock facilities in Keramasan were built by PT Kereta Api Logistik (Kalog).

Meanwhile, PTBA has built a coal handling facility.

The groundbreaking of coal handling facilities has been carried out by PTBA on December 30, 2023.
