These Are A Number Of PTBA Breakthroughs To Acquire Business Innovation And Development

JAKARTA - Throughout 2023, PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has taken various steps to spur innovation and business development.

Cooperation with various parties is established to encourage increased added value of coal and technology development in the field of new and renewable energy (EBT).

Among them through collaboration with the National Research & Innovation Agency (BRIN) and various universities.

"Trboborations are needed to achieve the vision of becoming a world-class energy company that cares about the environment. Collaboration and support from various parties are needed to make the transformation of PT Bukit Asam Tbk successful. We hope that cooperation with various parties can create innovations that create sustainable business," said Director of Business Development of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) Rafli Yandra in an official statement, Friday, January 12.

An update effort was also made by PTBA through the cultivation of you two red on an area of 80 hectares (ha) in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra.

Kaliandra merah yang mulai dibudidaya sejak Oktober 2023 tersebut akan diolas menjadi wood pellet, bahan bakar batu bara (cofiring) di Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU).

"Budidayaan Andadra merah juga menjadi salah satu bentuk reklamasi dalam bentuk lain yang dilakukan oleh Perusahaan. Hal ini merupakan upaya PTBA dalam mendukung transisi energi demi mencapai target Net Zero Emission pada 2060 yang ditetapkan Pemerintah," ujar Rafli.

Strategic projects continue to be carried out to support the Company's performance. Effective starting October 7, 2023, the South Sumatra-8 Mouth Mining Steam Power Plant (PLTU) (2x621.72 MW) has reached the Commercial Operation Date (COD) status, aka commercially operating.

This plant implements an efficient and environmentally friendly Supercritical Steam Generator technology, as well as Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) technology to reduce exhaust emissions.

In addition, PTBA and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or PT KAI agreed on a cooperation framework for the development of coal transportation related to Tanjung Enim Baru-Keramasan on October 12, 2023.

This project will increase PTBA's coal transportation capacity by up to 20 million tons per year.

In this collaboration, the facilities and infrastructure for rail transportation modes were prepared by PT KAI, while the dock facilities in Keramasan were built by PT Kereta Api Logistik (Kalog).

Meanwhile, PTBA has built a coal handling facility.

The groundbreaking of coal handling facilities has been carried out by PTBA on December 30, 2023.
