The Increase In Airplane Tickets In Manokwari Does Not Pass The Decreased Limits

MANOKWARI - West Papua Region IX Airport Authority Office revealed that the increase in aircraft ticket prices in Manokwari Regency, West Papua Province is still at a reasonable limit.

Head of the air transportation security and airworthiness section, Otban IX West Papua, M. Agustinus Situmorang, said that none of the airlines in Manokwari sold tickets exceeding the upper limit (TBA) set by the Ministry of Transportation.

"We are monitoring whether they impose tariffs in accordance with the regulations of the Minister of Transportation or not. But here (Manokwari) ticket prices go up but do not exceed the specified limits," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, January 6.

He explained that Otban IX supervised so that all regulations issued by the Ministry of Transportation could be implemented by all stakeholders at airports such as airport operators, airlines and other aviation stakeholders.

He explained, to tighten supervision of the flow of Christmas and New Year's homecoming, Otban made a post from December 15, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

The command post was built at two airports that are working areas of Otban IX West Papua, namely Domine Eduard Osok Sorong Airport and Rendani Airport, Manokwari.

"So far, all stakeholders at the airport have implemented good regulations," he said.

He explained that the main task of Otban IX is to allow air transportation passengers to carry out their homecoming safely, comfortably and in an orderly manner. Starting from going home to returning home.

"Because the airport flight target is passengers. So we focus on monitoring and ensuring that passenger movements run well," he said.

He added that the movement of Rendani Manokwari Airport passengers was quieter than Domine Eduard Osok Sorong Airport. In fact, the number of passengers, the number of planes arriving and leaving, the number of cargoes at Rendani Manokwari Airport decreased compared to last year.

"If we certainly want these two airports to increase. Otban IX will make efforts to improve flights in Rendani, of course in ways that are in accordance with regulations," he said.
