PT KAI: 2 Victims Of Bandung Train Accident Injuries Still Being Treated At The Hospital

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) stated that two victims of a train accident in Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, are still being treated at the hospital.

"Yes, it is true that there are two victims who are still being treated," said KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo, quoted from Antara, Saturday, January 6.

Based on the information he received, said Didiek, the two victims consisted of two women, the first was a mother who was in a condition of having just given birth.

"One of them, after giving birth there were bruises on the head, and today we are doing a CT Scan to see the impact (accident) and we are responsible for all the treatment," he said.

The other victim, is a pregnant woman with eight months of pregnancy who will then be transferred to the hospital for more intensive treatment.

"Another woman is pregnant for eight months and has also been transferred to a more proper hospital so that treatment is more handled and all medical expenses are borne by PT Kereta Api Indonesia," he said.

It was informed that a train accident occurred between the Turangga Train (Surabaya-Bandung) and the Greater Bandung Commuter Line Train (Padalarang-Cicalengka) on the road plot between Haurpugur Station and Cicalengka Station on Friday (5/1) at around 06.00 WIB.

In this accident, PT KAI reported that four victims died, consisting of the driver, assistant driver of the stewards, and Polsuska who were on duty on the train.

The evacuation of the two unfortunate trains, said by PT KAI, had been successfully carried out in the early hours of Saturday and had been normalized and declared safe by the Daop 2 Bandung Road and Bridge team at 06.30 WIB.
