The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Plans To Reduce The Distribution Of 3 Kg LPG Through Retailers

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji said that his party plans to reduce the distribution of 3 kg LPG cylinders through retailers. Tutuka said this was in accordance with the government's goal of distributing subsidy LPGs on target.

"Later we will propose 5 or 10 percent. Not this year, we will see the evaluation from now on," he said, quoted on Saturday, January 6.

The current regulation states that 80 percent of the subsidized LPG distribution is carried out through an official base, while 20 percent is through retailers.

Tutuka also ensured that I would not reduce the distribution through retailers by up to 0 percent considering that people in remote areas or remote areas are still making purchases through retailers.

"Maybe not (0 percent), because we are in a remote area too difficult. The remote area cannot be 100 percent, maybe we'll see first in the remote area. Not many are remote, but we are slowly achieving it there," continued Tutuka.

Just so you know, since January 1, 2024, the purchase of 3 Kg Tube LPG can only be done by registered users. 3 Kg LPG users can check their status by showing an Identity Card (KTP) in an official sub-district/register. Users who have not been registered, will only be able to transact after being assisted by a sub-perkenal/base.

This step is the Government's effort to carry out the transformation of the 3 kg LPG Tube distribution on target. This policy aims to make the amount of subsidies really enjoyed by the people who are entitled, according to the reasonable consumption.

Therefore, Tutuka Ariadji appealed to people who have not been registered to register immediately before purchasing the 3 Kg Tabung LPG. To register, the public only needs to show their KTP and Family Cards (KK) in the official sub-district.

"People don't need to worry because the registration process is very easy, fast, and safe. It's enough to show your ID card and family card," said Tutuka.

In addition to being easy and fast in the registration process, Tutuka explained that the public does not need to worry about the security of consumer personal data. He explained that the Government and Business Entities Recipient of Assignment (PT Pertamina) guarantee that consumer data of 3 Kg LPG on Pertamina's app merchants will be protected in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection.

The actual data shows that around 31.5 million LPG Tung 3 Kg users have transacted through Pertamina's app merchants in the official sub-crossing/base.
