The Ministry Of Transportation Records 81 Percent Of Flights Operating On Time During Christmas And New Year Holidays

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation noted that the majority of flights during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays operate on time.

This can be seen from the monitoring of air transportation during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 (Nataru) periods carried out by the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation from 19 December 2023 to 3 January 2024.

Direktur Jenderal Perhubungan Udara, M. Kristi Endah Murni mengatakan total penerbangan rute domestik selama periode 19 Desember 2023 hingga 1 Januari 2024 adalah 26,942 dengan rata-rata persentase OTP dari 13 maskapai adalah 81,05 persen.

"The OTP achievement is the result of the cooperation of all parties, both airport operators, air transportation business entities, navigation providers, related Ministries and Institutions and of course the public using air transportation services who have made a positive contribution to the smooth running of flights," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, January 3.

Krsiti said the three airlines with the most total domestic flights during that period were Lion Air, Citilink and Batik Air.

"Meanwhile, the three airlines with the highest percentage of OTP are Citilink, Trigana Air, and Pelita Air," he explained.

According to Kristi, OTP can be achieved by maintaining the performance of all supporting factors, starting from smoothness at the airport, smooth arrangements for aircraft movement to taxiway to runway, and flight traffic management. As well as enrichment of the application of Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM).

In addition to airlines, the Directorate General of Hubud also monitored 51 airports. In the same period, the total aircraft grew 5.5 percent from 2022, which was 26,942.

"The total number of passengers grew 9.4 percent, namely 3,277,355, and the total cargo grew 1.3 percent, which was 27,708 tons," he said.

Of the 51 monitoring airports, there are five airports with the highest domestic flight traffic, namely Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Juanda International Airport, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, and Kualanamu International Airport.

"We hope that all airlines and airports can provide excellent service to the community until the end of the Nataru period tomorrow for safe and comfortable air transportation," concluded Kristi.
