Jabodebek LRT Passengers Up 33 Percent During The 2023 Christmas Holiday

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that the number of passengers on the Jabodebek LRT increased by 33 percent during the 2023 Christmas holiday. In total, during the Christmas holiday, the Jabodebek LRT has served 119,883 users.

The Manager of Public Relations of the Jabodebek LRT, Mahendro Trang Bawono, said that during the Christmas holiday period or December 23 to 26 the average daily number of users reached 29,971.

Meanwhile, continued Mahendro, on weekends in December, the daily average is 22,523 users.

"KAI would like to thank the trust of users who have chosen the Jabodebek LRT as a mode of transportation during this year's Christmas holiday period," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, December 27.

Mahendro said KAI also thanked the government and all stakeholders who played a role in creating a safe, smooth and controlled Jabodebek LRT journey.

Furthermore, Mahendro said the Jabodebek LRT was committed to providing excellent service to service users during the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays. Moreover, with the addition of travel and operational time towards the end of the year.

The Jabodebek LRT has also taken comprehensive steps to increase its operational reliability. To ensure smooth travel, the Jabodebek LRT has strengthened its personnel by deploying additional officers, both frontliner and security officers at stations, in anticipation of increasing the number of users during the holiday period," he said.

Mahendro said the presence of the officer was aimed at helping service users and maintaining smooth travel. The Jabodebek LRT also coordinates with external parties starting from the TNI, Polri, Satpol PP, Dishub, and local community leaders to strengthen security in the station area.

In addition, the LRT also prioritizes improving facilities at stations, given the importance of user comfort and convenience. This increase in facilities is in the form of increasing the number of cooling fans on concourse and platforms, adding bicycle parking spaces, and riding bicycles along the station stairs.

As a commitment to maintain the best service standards, the Jabodebek LRT has also carried out extra maintenance. Strict maintenance procedures have been implemented to ensure that LRT facilities can operate optimally, by prioritizing safety and reliability for users.

"Especially for the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Jabodebek LRT has deployed a 24-hour facility maintenance officer post and prepared an evacuation tool to anticipate an emergency situation," said Mahendro.
