Christmas Holiday, PLN Ensures Jakarta's Electricity Supply Is Safe And Reliable

PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) ensures the safety and reliability of electricity supply on Christmas Eve 2023. PLN continues to alert personnel at places of worship to ensure that the 2023 Christmas celebrations run smoothly.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo when checking the readiness of electricity supply at Christmas Eve said PLN continues to alert all electricity systems during Nataru starting from the primary energy supply side, generators, transmission networks, distribution, to customer services.

"We have prepared it as well as possible by ensuring that the zero mistake, zero tolerance, zero blackout electricity system. Our officers continue to maintain the reliability of electricity so that the 2023 Christmas celebration can run with joy," Darmawan said in a written statement, Monday, December 25.

He advised all officers to be fully alert in carrying out the task of maintaining Christmas and New Year's electricity.

On a different occasion, PLN Distribution Director Adi Priyanto directly inspected the PLN Alert Post for the Greater Jakarta Distribution Regulatory Implementation Unit, in Gambir, Central Jakarta on Saturday (23/12). Adi also carried out real-time monitoring of 16 electricity standby posts in the working area of PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit through the electricity distribution dashboard at the Distribution Control Center (DCC).

In addition, PLN also conducts electricity monitoring points in 234 churches in the Jakarta area. The main monitoring points are in the Cathedral Church and GPIB Imanuel.

"The officers work all out in securing electricity and serving the community," he said.

General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit Jakarta Raya Lasiran said the electricity supply in Jakarta is currently in sufficient condition and safe. Currently, PLN UID Jakarta Raya has an electricity supply of 9,062 Megawatts (MW) with a peak load of 5,800 MW, so there is still a reserve of 36 percent.

To ensure that electricity is safe at the main point of monitoring for Christmas, PLN has prepared a four-layer electricity supply security and 24-hour standby officers to keep electricity reliable during the worship.

"PLN UID Jakarta Raya is ready to maintain the reliability of electricity supply during Christmas 2023, so Christians can worship safely and comfortably without any interference from the electricity system," concluded Lasiran.
