JAKARTA - Ahead of entering the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) as the Gas Subholding of PT Pertamina (Persero) ensures that operational reliability and service delivery to customers will run smoothly.

PGN evaluates the reliability of gas distribution, infrastructure and Manpower support in its preparation section. PGN also alerted 23 points of the Nataru Task Force and the activation of the Nataru Command Post spread across infrastructure and network operations areas. In addition, the Disturbance Handling Team will be on standby for 24 hours if needed to anticipate immediate handling.

The strategy used in dealing with Nataru is to plan volume demand estimation by customers and the availability of natural gas supplies. To anticipate if there is a disruption in gas supply, the LNG portfolio can be used to maintain natural gas distribution services.

"We have made preparations for Nataru by estimating the need for customer gas volume and gas supply availability. In this case, we can optimize the LNG portfolio and infrastructure when there are gas supply constraints. Then, we will activate the Nataru Task Force and Special Command Post Team from this month until early January 2024," said Ratih Esti Prihatini, Director of Sales & Operations PGN, Wednesday, December 20.

Ratih added that until now the operation activities have run smoothly, the volume of customer needs can be met, including the process of unloading cargo in Arun.

To provide easy access to information for customers and the public, PGN provides education on this service through various channels that are easily accessible. Starting from delivery via SMS, social media and 24-hour Contact Center services with 135 numbers. All PGN area offices are always ready to provide service comfort for those in need.

In terms of providing reliability to infrastructure operations, PGN has been strengthened by gas pressure monitoring and control systems throughout its network in real time which can be monitored through the Integrated Monitoring Center (IMOC). Then, network patrols are also carried out periodically, both for infrastructure locations and land and water networks. All forms of supervision have been integrated and are a form of PGN's digitalization commitment to improve service reliability and natural gas operations.

"PGN is also collaborating with the TNI and Polri as security forces in terms of handling and preparing Nataru and to maintain the reliability of our natural gas distribution," added Ratih.

In addition, support from stakeholders, including community supervision, will benefit PGN in maintaining its assets and services.

Currently, PGN provides natural gas distribution services to 4,986 customers with industrial, commercial and small categories as well as 834,165 household customers (jargas). This natural gas service is channeled through infrastructure and natural gas networks that span more than 30,000 km. In addition, the supply of gas fuel (BBG) with other modes is channeled through Gas Fuel Filling Stations (SPBG) and Mobile Refuelling Units (MRU) with a capacity capacity of 177,750 liters equivalent to premium (lsp).

PGN hopes that with all the preparations and support of stakeholders, the reliability of natural gas energy supply as energy for both the community can always be available and support the Government's efforts in maintaining the stability of national energy availability.
