Ministry Of Trade Gives 4 Months TikTok Shop Separate Apps

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) provides four months for Tiktok Shop to separate trading transaction features in the application. This time is also given to Shopee.

The Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Isy Karim, said that his party had summoned Tokopedia regarding TikTok Shop which was still making trading transactions on the TikTok platform, after officially operating again.

For your information, this Tokopedia summons because TikTok Shop has officially cooperated with the local e-commerce to get permission to resume operations in the country.

Furthermore, Isy admitted, after studying it, it turned out that there had been no separation of trade transactions from TikTok Shop.

Therefore, his party gave four months to transfer

"We are still deepening this application to what extent, it must be separated. The minister gave him 3-4 months," he said at the Ministry of Trade, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 20.

Furthermore, Isy said that the transition period was actually a policy of the Ministry of Trade given to all platforms to adjust to applicable regulations. This includes Shopee.

The regulations in question are the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Pemgang) Number 31 of 2023 concerning Business Licensing, Advertising, Guidance, and Supervision of Business Actors in Trade through the Electronic System.

"It's the same as other e-commerce like Shopee with its cord border. Because the App is abroad, the TikTok Shop, so there needs to be adjustments and time," he said.
