JAKARTA - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has paid its employees a salary. One of the reasons is that the contract for modernizing the C 130 Indonesian Air Force aircraft and the procurement of the CN235 Indonesian Navy aircraft with the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) is still in the finalization stage.
Responding to this condition, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he was ready to help PTDI communicate with the Ministry of Defense.
This was conveyed by Erick when answering the question of whether his party would communicate with the Ministry of Defense regarding the payment of the contract.
"We'll definitely help (communication)," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 19.
Furthermore, Erick said that his party had restored the defense industry by establishing a holding.
"That's what I said, why in the early days our defense industry made a holding and there were actions to refocus on its business. And I have spoken, in the future there will be children and grandchildren, if it can be closed, if there is no function," he said.
Erick admitted that he had closed 173 children and grandchildren of state-owned companies. He also emphasized that he would close only children and grandchildren of businesses to create projects.
"We have closed 173 and our grandchildren, if we can get 600, why is 173, but I can't say it's closed, closed, closed, it turns out that this has a permit, but what eats away from the holding company is just for creating projects, that's what I have to brush," he explained.
Previously it was reported, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) revealed the reasons behind the decision to pay off employees' salaries. This condition is because project payments have shifted payment times by PTDI clients.
"This is because there is a payment process from several customers who still need time, even though the contract has been signed and effective," said PTDI Corporate Secretary Gemma Grimald confirmed, Monday, December 18.

Among them, continued Gemma, there was a shift in payments by the Philippine National Department of Defense or DND Philippines due to a change in leadership at the institution.
"It is targeted that payments can be received from the Indonesian government in December 2023-January 2024," explained Gemma.
