PGN And 2 Companies Distribute Natural Gas 45 BBTUD For Industry In Aceh And North Sumatra

PT PGN Tbk together with PT Pertagas Niaga (PTGN) and PT Pemap Global Energi (PGE) signed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement for PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, industry in Aceh, and industry in North Sumatra.

PGE, who acts as a seller, will supply a maximum of 45 BBTUD of natural gas to PGN and PTGN.

The source of supply for PJBG comes from the Work Area (WK) B, where PGE is domiciled as a Contractor and Operator for WK B.

The use of gas sources from WK B has been based on the recommendations of the Aceh Oil and Gas Management Agency (BPMA) to appoint a state natural gas seller from WK B to PGE and in accordance with the provisions of Government Regulations on joint management of oil and gas natural resources in Aceh.

The use of natural gas from WK B is expected to maintain the sustainability of gas distribution in Aceh and North Sumatra. Furthermore, it can be a stimulus, especially for PIM in the production process as well as industries in the Aceh and North Sumatra regions so that the regional economy will develop," said PGN Business Strategy and Development Director Rosa Permata Sari, quoted Monday, December 11.

Rosa added that this PJBG also implements gas prices for certain industries that refer to Kepmen 134K/2021 and Kepmen 91K/2023. So it will be able to contribute quite significantly to the productivity and competitiveness of the beneficiary industry.

"The commitment of PGN, PTGN and PGE together is to increase the use of domestic natural gas. In addition, strategic value is a solution to providing energy for Aceh and North Sumatra," continued Rosa.

PGN and PTGN hope that the gas allocation from WK B can be absorbed optimally in the future.

Not only providing benefits for the oil and gas business entities concerned and consumers, but also being able to maintain state revenues from the upstream oil and gas sector.
