Regarding Business Incentives, MSME Actors Are Asked To Have A Business Identification Number

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) encourages MSME players to have a Business Identification Number (NIB). This is necessary so that MSME actors can get many benefits and business incentives, including being protected legally and can access formal financing sources.

"According to the mandate of the derivative of the Substitute Regulation of the Job Creation Law, the manufacture of this NIB is free of charge. In addition, the creation of NIB can be done easily and quickly," said Assistant Deputy for Protection and Ease of Micro Enterprises at the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs Muhammad Firdaus in a written statement, quoted Monday, December 11.

Firdaus said, to get NIB, business actors only need 5-10 minutes through OSS by accessing the oss.go.id page or through the OSS Indonesia application which can be downloaded via smart phones, by entering personal data, active email, and active Whatsapp numbers.

After that, business actors just log in, then fill the needs of NIB. Meanwhile, specifically for micro and small businesses, just select UMK.

"This condition is very much different from the previous few years which still took two to three days," he said.

After the NIB is published, said Firdaus, food and beverage products can immediately take care of other certifications, such as halal submissions, SNI Bina UMK, or a Domestic Industry Food Production Certificate (SPP-IRT).

"Later, it remains only to be attached to fulfilling the commitment to be able to legalize the SPP-IRT, the commitment is in the form of food security for the health office of any region," he said.

In addition, by having a permit, MSME actors can also get business assistance from the government.
