JAKARTA - The performance of the textile and textile product (TPT) industry is still not fully recovered. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) encourages new opportunities to increase production competitiveness through the development of green industrial products.

Head of the Standardization and Industrial Services Policy Agency (BSKJI) of the Ministry of Industry Andi Rizaldi said the opportunity was present from increasing the need for green industrial products, including in the TPT industry.

"The government continues to strive to strengthen the green industrial ecosystem through cooperation with other stakeholders," Andi said in a written statement, quoted on Wednesday, December 6.

Therefore, the Ministry of Industry is currently facilitating the implementation of Green Industry Standards (SIH) in a number of manufacturing companies.

Based on the records of the Ministry of Industry, for the textile product category until 2023, there are six textile industries that have been certified by the green industry.

From 2017 to 2022, it was recorded that 71 industrial companies had met all technical requirements and standard management of the green industry and were entitled to use the green industry logo.

"The results of the evaluation of the green industry certification implementation program in 2022 will be obtained some benefits that can be felt," said Andi.

Some of them, namely reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 37 percent, Overal Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by 10 percent, input material efficiency by 13 percent, water efficiency by 21 percent, and energy efficiency by 28 percent.

One example is a textile industry company that has obtained a Green Industry Certificate, namely PT Dan Liris for the category of the fabric refinement textile industry (No. SIH 13132:2022) and the fabric printing textile industry category (No. SIH 13133:2022).

PT Dan Liris is the first textile company to receive a Green Industry Certificate in Central Java, after going through a series of certifications carried out by the Green Industry Certification Institute (LSIH BBSPJIKB).
