Impact Of Landslides On The Karangandul-Karangsari Cross, 12 Affected Railway Trips

JAKARTA - A total of 12 train trips (KA) from various destinations that crossed the Daop 5 Purwokerto area were diverted. This is because of a landslide that closed the rail line at KM 340+100 between Karangandul-Karangsari Station on Monday morning.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto, Feni Novida Saragih conveyed the chronology of the incident, on Monday at 00.58 WIB, the downstream route was affected by landslide cliffs due to high rainfall.

Then, the KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto Joint Team immediately carried out the handling and the upstream route could still be passed so that the train trip was diverted to one route through the upstream and the train continued.

At 04.27 WIB, the KAI field officer reported that another landslide occurred so that two lines, namely downstream and upstream, were affected by landslides and for the time being it could not be passed. For the sake of safety and handling of the affected downstream and upstream routes, the train journey is diverted to the north.

"We apologize for the inconvenience of customers due to the landslide-affected rail line," he said in an official statement, Monday, December 4.

Feni said there were at least 12 train trips that were affected and had to be diverted through the north and south routes.

The 12 affected trains with a round trip are:

1. KA 155 Kamandaka (PWT - SMT)

2. KA 147 Sawunggalih (KTA - PSE)

3. KA 116 Ranggajati (CN - JR)

4. KA 18 Argo Semeru (GMR - SGU)

5. KA 141 Fajar Utama Yogya (YK - PSE)

6. 246 Bengawan Trains (PSE - PWS)

7. KA 88 Fajar Utama Solo (PSE - SLO)

8. KA 142 Fajar Utama Yogya (PSE - YK)

9. KA 148 Sawunggalih (PSE - KTA)

10 KA 138 Gajahwong (PSE - LPN)

11. KA 67 Taksaka (YK - GMR)

12. KA 7 Argo Lawu (SLO - GMR)
